Getting to Know the FHA
“After the fallout of the subprime and Alt-A loan market in 2007, FHA loans have received a new shot of energy throughout the housing market. Lenders, realtors, politicians, and investors have all issued statements championing the return of the FHA Home Loan Program to its rightful place in helping Americans purchase their homes. FHA modernization is currently under way and the Expanding American Homeownership Act of 2007 promises to re-ignite the industry.”—a quote from the FHA website stating how the FHA sees the role that this organization will play in the U.S. housing market
The U.S Senate and House are in the process of ironing out the differences in the housing stimulus bills that they passed recently. Whatever the outcome, it is clear that the Federal Housing Administration ( FHA) will play a major role. That being the case it would be helpful to have an understanding of what the FHA mission is and what programs it offers. To that end, the FHA is sponsoring a contest for the best real estate blog. Apparently, they want to get more traffic to their website so that more people will be aware of what they have to offer.
Information on the following is offered on the FHA website:
- Refinancing with FHA
- FHA loan limits
- Subprime help
- the FHASecure program
- FHA lending guide
Also included on this site is an FHA blog.
So…
Because I am glad to help more of you understand what the FHA can offer you, because I am glad to make more people aware of Redfin and what it has to offer, and because I am interested in getting the information that I write on my posts to as many people as would find it helpful and interesting, I have registered for this contest.
If you would like to see the FHA website, click here. If you feel inclined, you can also vote for my Redfin blog at the this same location by clicking on the Thumps Up icon.
